Can I take Arginine with Quercetin?

Understanding the interactions, benefits, and safety of combining these two powerful supplements.

Arginine
+
Quercetin

Short answer

We found no direct interaction between Arginine and Quercetin in the sources below, but they share a caution.

Both have a note about blood-pressure medicines (see each one below).

Arginine

What it is: An amino acid the body makes and gets from protein foods. The body turns it into nitric oxide, which widens blood vessels.

What the research says: There's little evidence it improves strength, exercise performance or recovery.

Cautions

  • Up to 9 g a day seems safe for days to weeks; more can cause stomach upset.
  • It can lower blood pressure slightly.

Medicines to check

  • Blood-pressure medicines: arginine can lower blood pressure too

In Holitro: Arginine (500 mg per capsule)

Quercetin

What it is: A plant compound found in apples, onions and tea; the most common flavonoid in the diet.

What the research says: It hasn't been shown to treat any disease. Its anti-inflammatory effects come from lab studies; in athletes, any performance benefits were small.

Cautions

  • No side effects were seen in athletes taking about 1,000 mg a day, but it hasn't been studied enough to know it's safe.

Medicines to check

  • Some prescription drugs processed by the liver: it may increase their side effects (lab data)
  • Losartan (a blood-pressure drug) and tamoxifen: animal or lab data only

In Holitro: Quercetin (500 mg per capsule)

Balancing dosages across multiple different bottles is risky, inefficient, and expensive. Quercetin is already lab-dosed and delivered daily in our Antioxidant Pack — one less bottle to manage.
