Turmeric

Short answer

We found no documented interaction between Probiotic and Turmeric in the sources below. That isn't proof the combination is right for you: check each one's cautions, and ask your pharmacist if you take medication.

Probiotic

What it is: Live microorganisms, mostly bacteria, that may benefit health when taken in large enough amounts. They work mainly in the gut.

What the research says: Effects depend on the specific strain, and many probiotic products haven't been studied.

Cautions

  • Probiotics have a long record of safe use; healthy people may get some gas.
  • They may not be safe for people who are seriously ill or have a weakened immune system.

Turmeric

What it is: A spice root in the ginger family; curcumin is its best-known active compound.

What the research says: There isn't enough evidence to say turmeric helps any health condition. Early evidence for knee osteoarthritis pain and stiffness is positive but needs better studies.

Cautions

  • Standard turmeric or curcumin is likely safe in recommended amounts for 2 to 3 months.
  • It can cause nausea, reflux, stomach upset, diarrhea or constipation.
  • Liver damage has been reported with curcumin made to absorb better. Stop and see a clinician if you notice tiredness, dark urine or yellowing skin.
  • May be unsafe in pregnancy.

Medicines to check

  • Talk to your clinician if you take any medicine

Stop Guessing Your Dosages.

Balancing dosages across multiple different bottles is risky, inefficient, and expensive. 10B Probiotic is already lab-dosed in our Gut Pack, and Turmeric is in our Kidney Support Pack β€” either way, that’s one less bottle to manage.
