Methyl B-Complex
+
Turmeric

Short answer

We found no documented interaction between B-complex and Turmeric in the sources below. That isn't proof the combination is right for you: check each one's cautions, and ask your pharmacist if you take medication.

B-complex (active forms)

What it is: A mix of B vitamins in their active forms.

What the research says: B vitamins help turn food into energy and keep blood and nerve cells healthy; a supplement helps if your diet falls short.

Cautions

  • High-dose folate can hide a vitamin B12 deficiency.
  • Taking a lot of vitamin B6 for a year or more can cause nerve damage.
  • Niacin at 30 mg or more can cause flushing and itching.

Medicines to check

  • Methotrexate: folate can interfere with it
  • Anti-seizure medicines (folate and vitamin B6 notes)

Turmeric

What it is: A spice root in the ginger family; curcumin is its best-known active compound.

What the research says: There isn't enough evidence to say turmeric helps any health condition. Early evidence for knee osteoarthritis pain and stiffness is positive but needs better studies.

Cautions

  • Standard turmeric or curcumin is likely safe in recommended amounts for 2 to 3 months.
  • It can cause nausea, reflux, stomach upset, diarrhea or constipation.
  • Liver damage has been reported with curcumin made to absorb better. Stop and see a clinician if you notice tiredness, dark urine or yellowing skin.
  • May be unsafe in pregnancy.

Medicines to check

  • Talk to your clinician if you take any medicine

Balancing dosages across multiple different bottles is risky, inefficient, and expensive. Methyl B-Complex is already lab-dosed in our Mood Support Pack, and Turmeric is in our Kidney Support Pack β€” either way, that’s one less bottle to manage.
