Can I take Melatonin SR with Quercetin?

Understanding the interactions, benefits, and safety of combining these two powerful supplements.

Melatonin SR
+
Quercetin

Short answer

We found no documented interaction between Melatonin and Quercetin in the sources below. That isn't proof the combination is right for you: check each one's cautions, and ask your pharmacist if you take medication.

Melatonin (slow release)

What it is: A slow-release form of melatonin, the hormone the brain makes in the dark to set your sleep-wake clock.

What the research says: Melatonin may help with jet lag and some circadian sleep problems. Sleep-medicine guidelines say there isn't enough evidence to recommend it for chronic insomnia.

Cautions

  • Short-term use seems safe for most people; long-term safety isn't known.
  • Older adults may feel drowsy the next day.

Medicines to check

  • Blood thinners and epilepsy: use only under medical supervision

Quercetin

What it is: A plant compound found in apples, onions and tea; the most common flavonoid in the diet.

What the research says: It hasn't been shown to treat any disease. Its anti-inflammatory effects come from lab studies; in athletes, any performance benefits were small.

Cautions

  • No side effects were seen in athletes taking about 1,000 mg a day, but it hasn't been studied enough to know it's safe.

Medicines to check

  • Some prescription drugs processed by the liver: it may increase their side effects (lab data)
  • Losartan (a blood-pressure drug) and tamoxifen: animal or lab data only

In Holitro: Quercetin (500 mg per capsule)

Stop Guessing Your Dosages.

Balancing dosages across multiple different bottles is risky, inefficient, and expensive. Melatonin SR is already lab-dosed in our Sleep Pack, and Quercetin is in our Antioxidant Pack β€” either way, that’s one less bottle to manage.
